Land of Boz

Before After

Well, we finally got tired of complaining about a couple of the trees in our back yard and actually hired someone to come remove them. Those people showed up yesterday and did so. They come back today to grind the stumps.

One of said trees was a Bartlett Pear that should’ve, by all rights, fallen down on its own or, at any time during the last 10 years worth of storms we’ve had, come down due to the inclement weather. Nope. Not our pear tree. It was too stupid to do like all the other pear trees in the neighborhood.

Driving home yesterday, I was almost giddy with excitement. As Gretchen & I pulled in to the drive, we were both shouting with glee about not being able to see the tree over the top of the garage.

Sometimes, money can buy happiness.

A New Job: Do. Not. Want.

Overheard today in the parking lot on the way back in to my office complex from lunch:

Lady 1:
I don't cry that much, right? I mean, no more than anyone else in the office, right??

Lady 2:
No, not at all! There are several others who cry way more than you.

(Permanent) Note to Self - NEVER apply for a job at any of the other companies in the office buildings here.

The Moron Test

My wife just showed me an app in Google’s Play (aka the Android Market) that’s called The Moron Test. The app is 99 cents.

I told her that was the test - to see if you’re dumb enough to actually buy it!
(she didn’t)

Seemed like a good time for an afternoon fire. Temperature is in the 50s, so… yeah, why not?
