Jalapeño Jelly?
Saw this on the shelf at the grocery yesterday and HAD to buy it. I mean, I like jalapeños… I like jelly… Why NOT combine the two?! (which I’m sure was the exact thought process the original creator went through)
At first I just smelled it and thought, “well, that’s different…” I let Ashlee smell it and she acted like I’d just shoved a poopie diaper in her face, nearly lapsing into dry heaves. Gretchen wouldn’t even smell it.
But even with those initial reactions, I tried it. It’s good! No, seriously - it’s good!
I tried it on toast and I really like the juxtaposition of the heat from the peppers against the sweet of the cane sugar. This would work really well as a glaze for meat.
Jalapeño jelly. Who knew?!
